About
A fanlisting is a website that lists fans of a particular subject from any place of the world. As simple as the word itself says: fan-listing. List of fans ^^;
What's the point of making and/or joining a fanlisting? Well, as a webmaster I can tell you working in a fanlisting can be so fun. And nice. You like a certain subject, you decide to make a website about it... and you're receiving join forms from all over the world, from people who loves the subject as much as you do and want to be part of your site. It's like a little way to see that people who live miles and miles away from you, in another country or even another continent, aren't that different from you, because you both like the same things ^^
Common Questions about fanlistings
[x] Is joining a fanlisting free or I have to pay something?
Is completely free, don't worry ^^
[x] Will I get any special stuff (free CDs, etc.) if I join? Like
if I joined a fanclub?
Ehm... nope. If you join you'll get listed here with the other members, and
that's all. People who join fanlistings don't do it expecting to get something
in exchange: they just join because they're proud to be fans of the subject,
and they want everyone to know how much they love it as well.
[x] Who came first with the fanlistings idea?
Janine. If I'm
right, she built the first fanlisting ever because she wanted to know how
many people around the world liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer...
[x] So this site is official then?
No, it isn't, as the disclaimer (the one you can read below in all the pages
of this site) says. It's just a fansite made for non-profit purposes - and
unofficial ^^
[x] But you say you're the only one approved by The Anime Fanlistings
Network...
Yes, well, but they're not affiliated with any anime companies/studios or
manga-kas, or whatever. TAFL is nothing but a big sites directory - a big
fanlistings directory, in this case. If you want to know how it works, I suggest
you visit them and take a look ^^
[x] Will I get any SPAM emails if I join and decide to show my e-mail
adress in the members list?
You shouldn't, as the script I use to add members protects all your e-mail
adresses from spam. Anyway, if you joined long time ago, it is possible, because
at first I added all the members manually, and the spam robots could scan
the site searching for e-mail adresses without finding any protection against
them. I'm sorry about that, but back then, I didn't know that was so important
:(
If you still have any questions about fanlistings, feel free to look the FAQ page in The Fanlistings Network - or ask them here if you don't find any answer there ^^
